Howard Avenue Shared Path on hold

The exhibition of the preliminary concept plans for a shared pedestrian and bike path between Walter Gors Park and The Strand has been put on hold to further consider impacts of the proposal, especially on trees and carparking. Should the proposal proceed to public exhibition, the community will be notified and provided the opportunity to comment.

Background

Howard Ave was identified in both the Warringah Bike Plan 2010 and the Dee Why Town Centre Master Plan 2013 as a priority bike route between Pittwater Road and Dee Why Beach. A new shared path would promote and encourage sustainable transport, improve accessibility for bikes, pedestrians and mobility scooters and provide an important connection to the existing bike path network.
