  • Marine Parade Amenities Block Land Licence - Manly

    Council requires a licence to use land owned by the Archdiocese of Sydney for the reconstruction of the amenities block on Marine Parade destroyed in the June 2016 storms.

    The replacement building will straddle land owned by Archdiocese of Sydney and Crown land (of which Council are Trustees). Council intends to build on a similar footprint as the previous public amenities building. Crown have already provided permission to go ahead with construction on their portion of the land.

    The Licence Deed dictates that Council is responsible for the amenities block construction costs and has all responsibility for its repair and maintenance.

    Roads and Maritime (RMS) have requested to lease Hope Street Park (Council land) for six months to facilitate construction works associated with the Northern Beaches B-Line Program.

    A second construction lease is also required for the eastern portion of the park which RMS then intends to acquire.

    The purpose of the licence agreement is to enable the applicant to operate its business on Council Land to provide seating and other dining facilities. The licence is subject to the payment of a fee and Council approval.

    In accordance with Section 47A of the Local Government Act 1993, we are considering granting a one year licence (with an option of another year) to Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles to use Brookvale Oval, Brookvale.

    The proposed licence agreement will enable the Sea Eagles to use the oval as a sportsground for the playing of rugby league football, training of players in rugby league football, and other approved uses. The proposed licence includes the use of the fixtures, fittings, furnishings, plant, machinery and equipment installed at the oval.

    The granting of the licence is subject to the payment of a licence fee and Council approval.

  • Berry Reserve, Narrabeen - Licence for markets on hold

    The licencing process for markets in Berry Reserve has been placed on hold due to the expected impact of Transport NSW’s plans for the B-Line bus service (Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)) project in Narrabeen to extend the existing car park at Berry Reserve.

    Investigations will be carried out to try to continue the markets at Berry Reserve. This will include community consultation and consideration to amend the licence area for these markets.

    It is expected that this public notification process will be re-activated in late 2016.

    A monthly market has been operating at Berry Reserve since the DA (DA 2005/0004) was approved on 19 July 2005.
