    In accordance with the requirements of a “Gateway” determination issued by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment, we will hold a public hearing, chaired by an independent consultant

    • Wednesday 13 September 2017 at the Peace Park, Oxford Falls from 6 to 8pm.

    A report on the public hearing will be provided to Council by the independent consultant and will be made public. The council must consider the report before making any decision about the Planning Proposal.

    Council has received a Gateway determination from the Department of Planning & Environment to exhibit a Planning Proposal to reclassify part Lot 21 DP 819277 Wakehurst Parkway, Oxford Falls from ‘Community’ land to ‘Operational’ land. The intended outcome of the Planning Proposal is to allow the lease or sale of the land by Council.

    We are seeking comments on the Planning Proposal in accordance with the requirements of the Gateway determination. The Minister for Planning has authority to make a Local Environmental Plan to implement the Planning Proposal should it be supported by Council.

    Council resolved at a meeting on 26 April 2017 to submit the Planning Proposal for reclassification of land, Lot 21 DP 819277 (Part) Wakehurst Parkway, Oxford Falls to the Department of Planning and Environment for a Gateway determination.

    The submission was sent to the Department of Planning and Environment on 9 May 2017.

    We have received a planning proposal to reclassify land known as Part Lot 21 DP 819277 Wakehurst Parkway, Oxford Falls, from ‘Community’ to ‘Operational’ under the Local Government Act 1993. The land adjoins the Oxford Falls Grammar School.

    Council is assessing the proposal to determine whether there is merit to proceed as an amendment to Warringah Local Environmental Plan 2011 (WLEP 2011).
