    We received a draft technical report a few weeks ago and have been working through it with the Consultant. The Collaroy Swimming Club has received a revised report for discussion and feedback.

    This investigation phase was delayed due to Council's consultant being diverted to coastal issues at Collaroy/Narrabeen Beach as result of the June 2016 storm event.

    As we progress towards construction phase we will be working closely with the Swimming Club and community to minimise any impact of closing the pool to undertake the works.

    Thank you to everyone who made a submission on the Rockpool Renewal (Collaroy).The main suggestions raised during the exhibition period regarding change improvements include;

    • Reconfigure pool to allow the pool to be fully drained so the bottom can be cleaned thoroughly each time
    • Marked lanes on the bottom of the pool
    • Improve accessibility to the tiered seating area including the provision of steps and additional handrails
    • Consider shade shelter or even umbrella holes drilled in the concrete
    • Adjust the pool scuppers so they work better
    • Repair rough concrete surface on the ramp into the pool

    Haskoning Australia, a well respected coastal engineering firm have been appointed to undertake a condition survey of the pool and development of remedial works options. A draft technical report will be provided to Council staff for further consideration with key stakeholders in the coming weeks to assist in finalising a scope of works and moving towards a detailed design.
