  • Shared Path Construction - Eileen and Worrobil Streets, North Balgowlah

    Council is progressively implementing the Warringah Bike Plan 2010.

    Construction of 70m to 140m of 2.5m wide pedestrian / bicycle shared path from the corner of Worrobil Street and Eileen Street to and through Eileen Street Reserve to the existing shared path from Baringa Avenue is scheduled for construction in the coming months.

    Should additional funds become available the path would extend to No. 52 Eileen Street.

    Council is progressively implementing the Warringah Bike Plan 2010. Each year projects are selected for implementation based on the priority allocated in the bike plan and network connectivity.

    Construction of 212m of 2.5m wide pedestrian/bicycle shared path along the north side of Campbell Parade from Sloane Crescent to Condamine Street adjacent to and through Millers Reserve is scheduled for construction in the coming months.

    We have developed and are currently seeking comment on concept plans for two proposed bicycle facilities at both Allambie Heights and Manly Vale. 

    Allambie Road from Sunlea Crescent to Aquatic Drive, Allambie Heights

    View Concept Plan

    The concept plan for Allambie Road includes; 

    • 2.5m pedestrian/bicycle shared path on the west side of Allambie Road from Sunlea Crescent to Aquatic Drive.
    • Minor relocation of the bus shelter located on the west side of Allambie Road
    • Reconstruction of the kerb blister and kerb ramps located on the east side of Allambie Road, south of Sunlea Crescent.
    • Installation of kerb ramps at Aquatic Drive, and also south of Sunlea Crescent.
    • Removal of shrubs and vegetation in Council’s road reserve in Allambie Road east of Aquatic Drive.
    • Installation of bicycle directional signs at key locations, installation of advance bicycle warning signs on approaching streets.
    Kentwell Road to Manly Vale Primary School, Manly Vale

    The concept plan for Kentwell Road includes; 

    • On road bicycle logo markings in Sloane Crescent and Cornwell Road, Campbell Parade and Gibbs Lane and Gibbs Street.
    • Construction of approximately 210m of pedestrian/bicycle shared path on west side of Gibbs Street, from King Street to and including the public carpark at the southern end of Gibbs Street.
    • Installation of bicycle directional signs at key locations, installation of advance bicycle warning signs on approaching streets. 
    The pedestrian/bicycle shared paths will be marked with relevant line marking and signage reflecting the shared path status.

    Works are planned to start from December 2014 to February 2015 depending on contractor availability.
