    On Tuesday 8 August 2017 Walk Avalon was presented to Council for adoption. At the meeting Mr Dick Persson AM resolved that Council:

    A. Adopt the Walk Avalon – Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan and commence programming of works in future operational budgets.

    B. Work with the community to deliver infrastructure outcomes detailed in the Walk Avalon – Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan.

    The adopted plan will link with the upcoming Avalon Place Plan scheduled for commencement during the 2017/2018 Financial Year.

    Walk Avalon is being developed in partnership with GHD Consultants and funded through the RMS Active Transport Walking Communities Program as part of our investment in safe, convenient and connected pedestrian facilities that will encourage an active community where people choose to walk rather than travel by car.

    The aim of Walk Avalon is to improve pedestrian safety, mobility and access to local shops, public transport, community facilities, beaches, parks and schools.
