Harry Elliffe

Harry Elliffe was considered by some an environmental crusader of the Northern Beaches. He spent over thirty years helping to maintain the vegetation along Carrington Parade, and working with the Curl Curl Lagoon Friends to restore the lagoon in John Fisher Park.

His interest in the environment flourished when he and his late wife Bev moved to Curl Curl. He combined his engineering knowledge and his prolific gardening skills with a long-held passion for coastal and estuarine restoration.

Harry and Bev were awarded Outstanding Community Service Awards in 2001.

In 2013, the Curl Curl Lagoon Friends named Harry an Environmental Warrior in recognition of his service to the enhancement of Greendale Creek, John Fisher Park and Curl Curl Lagoon and beach.

In 2018 he was the Northern Beaches Senior Citizen of the year.
