Proposed Lease of Land to Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) - Mona Vale Road

In accordance with Section 47A of the Local Government Act 1993, Northern Beaches Council hereby gives public notice of its intention to consider a lease for a term of three (3) years for the parcels of land known as:

  • Lot 2, 3 & 4 DP 350940 Walana Crescent, Mona Vale
  • Lot 101 DP 749415, Lot 6 DP 239061 and Part of Lot 12 DP 241313 Mona Vale Road, Mona Vale

The purposes for the lease are as follows:

Lot 2, 3 & 4 DP 350940 Walana Crescent, Mona Vale - is for road widening purposes, particularly in relation to accommodating shared path, noise wall and 3m wide maintenance access track.

Part of Lot 12 in DP 241313, 105 Mona Vale Road, Mona Vale - is for road widening purposes at the North-West corner of the intersection of Mona Vale Rroad and Samuel Street and construction access.

Part of Lot 101 DP 749415, Part of Lot 6 DP 239061 and Part of Lot 12 in DP 239196 - is for on site drainage detention works to make sure the impact of road widening, and thereby additional road run off from the project, is captured on site to ensure the existing flows on downstream drainage are not exceeded.

A separate process is being undertaken for RMS to acquire some of the leased land in the future. The parcels affected are marked on the attached plans.

Update Tuesday 2 January 2018 - RMS responds to public submissions

Thank you to those who made a public submission regarding the public exhibition of the lease of land along Mona Vale Road to the RMS. Six submissions were received and the RMS have made responses to those submissions.

The next step in this process will be that RMS will submit a draft lease to Council for its review and consideration.
