Thank you for attending

18 October 2018

Thank you to the 192 people who attended our Beaches Link Tunnel community forum and the 21 registered speakers and those from the floor who expressed their views on the project.

Council will use the feedback from Wednesday’s event to inform our submission to the RMS on its project.

We want to hear from as many people as possible about the Beaches Link Tunnel project. If you haven't already, please complete our online survey so that we can capture your views too.

This survey will close midnight Friday 26 October.

Questions put on notice

At the community forum, a couple of questions were put on notice to be answered after the event.

What is Council's role in this process if the State Government makes all of the decisions?

Council will continue to advocate for the best outcome for the Northern Beaches community through the submission on the reference design and Environmental Impact Statement process. We're currently working with the local community to provide a submission to the State Government detailing the community’s view on the current proposal and exploring options that may resolve community concerns.

What is the next part of the process and will we see Council’s submission to the RMS?

The submission from Council will be developed over the next two weeks, and following standard protocol the report and the submission will be available for public viewing on Council’s website seven days prior to the November 2018 Council Meeting. Once adopted by Council at this meeting it will be forwarded to RMS for consideration.

RMS Engagement

Council encourages the community to also provide their submission directly to RMS by 9 November 2018, through the project email below: whtbl@rms.nsw.gov.au
