It's play time

Works complete

We've upgraded the play equipment at Anana Reserve in Eleanora Heights, with a focus on play for toddlers and primary school-aged children.

The playground opened in April, and the final touches are now complete, including:

  • a new small fire engine and puppy dog rocker
  • a new water bubbler
  • a new footpath connection from the street
  • a new playground fence.

We hope you and your children enjoy exploring the new playground.

Consultation outcome

Anana Reserve Playground is located close to Elanora Heights Public School and local shops.

The play equipment in this popular playground needed upgrading to meet the needs of the community with a focus on providing play for toddler and primary school-aged children.

We called for concept designs from a number of contractors to undertake the design and construction, and their proposals are pictured below.

We exhibited three proposals and asked you to indicate your preferred option.

The proposals were exhibited between Friday 4 November and Sunday 4 December, and we received 130 comments. Feedback indicated a high level of support for renewing the playground.

Proposal 2 received the most support, with the remaining preferences split evenly across proposals 1 and 3. In light of this, we proceeded with the playground renewal based on Proposal 2, with minor modifications.

Many respondents asked that the fire truck be retained - we worked with the supplier to incorporate a small fire engine play piece in the final design.

A path connection and upgraded drinking fountain were also added to the project.

Thank you to all who provided feedback on the proposals. You can view more detail on the feedback and outcomes in our Community Engagement Report.
