Works have commenced

  • Project update - May 2024

Works have commenced on the new recreation facility.

We anticipate opening the new outdoor space for the community to enjoy in mid-2024, subject to weather and other unforeseen delays.

We're looking to create a space in Narraweena for the local young people to enjoy.

One of the actions from Let's Play! (our Open Space and Outdoor Recreation Strategy), is to look at improvements for Beverley Job Park, including the potential for facilities for young people.

The proposed area (corner of McIntosh Road and Victor Road) is highlighted in blue on the map below, with the yellow information marker.

We talked to over 400 local young people about their preferences for new facilities. They told us that they would love to have a basketball court at Beverley Job Park. We consulted the community with a concept plan for a multi-use hard court.

The proposed outdoor space for young people includes:

  • New multi-use hard court with line marking to accommodate formal and informal recreation.
  • Open grassed area and new shade trees to provide passive recreation opportunities.
  • Grassed embankment for passive recreation and viewing of sporting activities

We heard from over 70 people from the local community about these concept plans. Thank you to everyone who provided a submission.

You can read the Community Engagement Report for more information.
