Background

We want to enhance access and parking opportunities for beachfront visitors with disabilities and/or mobility issues.

We exhibited a proposal to increase the number of accessible parking spaces in the Bilgola Beach Carpark by converting 2 angled parking spaces adjacent to the café to 2 accessible parking spaces.

The change will increase the number of accessible parking spaces at the beach from 3 to 5, with no change to the total number of parking spaces available in the carpark.

We asked for your feedback between 27 May and 6 July 2025, and received 38 responses. A majority of respondents supported the proposal (81% very or somewhat supportive), citing the benefits for users with mobility limitations.

Local Traffic Forum

A report on the outcomes from engagement was presented to the Local Traffic Forum on Tuesday 4 November 2025. The Forum supported the conversion of 2 angled parking spaces near the cafe entrance to accessible parking spaces.
