Overview

We are upgrading Boondah Road between Spine Bill Drive and Jacksons Road in Warriewood.

The project is a key component of the Warriewood Valley Roads Masterplan, Landscape Plan, and Section 94 Contributions Plan, designed to meet the evolving needs of our community. The project is funded by the Warriewood Valley Development Contributions Plan.

The road upgrade will make it safer for you to walk and ride around your neighbourhood, including areas like sportsfields, schools, shops, and the new Warriewood Community Centre.

Key improvements include:

  • new 2.5m wide shared-user path for walking and cycling
  • new dedicated footpath for pedestrian safety
  • new raised pedestrian crossings for improved safety
  • addition of designated parking bays
  • road surface improvements
  • new road markings and signage
  • upgrades to existing lighting and new lighting over pedestrian crossings for enhanced safety
  • emergency vehicle driveway access bays
  • new landscaping
  • new shared path connecting to B-line bus stop on Pittwater Road
  • new roundabout installed at the Boondah Road and Jacksons Road intersection.

Construction is anticipated to begin mid 2025 and is subject to the decision of the Local Traffic Committee. We'll share more details as they become available.

Project background

Project background

The Boondah Road upgrade project is a key component of the Warriewood Valley Roads Masterplan, Landscape Plan, and Section 94 Contributions Plan, designed to meet the evolving needs of our community. The concept design was based on thorough research, including surveys and geotechnical field investigations.

In conjunction with the proposed Boondah Road upgrade, additional infrastructure improvements are planned for the surrounding area. These include the development of new hard-court facilities with lighting and a refurbished sports amenities building. Further information will be provided as we move forward with these projects.


Engagement outcomes

We exhibited the concept design for the Boondah Road upgrade between 14 November and 12 December 2024, and heard from 102 people. The project team will use your feedback to refine the design including the addition of bus drop off bays on both sides of Boondah Road to accommodate bus access and school drop-off/pick-up zones. The community engagement report along with the revised design will be presented to Council’s Local Traffic Committee for approval.

Funding and FAQs

    The project is funded by the Warriewood Valley Development Contributions Plan.

    The Contributions Plan 2022 applies to the Warriewood Valley Release Area and is the funding mechanism for local infrastructure required to meet the needs of the current and future residents within Warriewood Valley.
