What's happening?
We provide access to a range of community assets to support social, cultural, recreational and community services that benefit our local community.
To support this, we have prepared the draft Community Rental Subsidy Policy (draft Policy), formalising the approach we have been taking since the Council amalgamation.
The draft Policy establishes clear, consistent and transparent principles for providing rental subsidies to eligible not-for-profit community groups who have a lease or licence to use Council-owned or managed assets.
Benefits

- improved consistency and transparency in assessing community rental subsidies
- administrative efficiency through a standardised, criteria-based assessment approach
- support for shared use of Council facilities and optimising community assets
- alignment of rental outcomes with demonstrated community benefit while supporting Council’s long-term financial sustainability.
We have also prepared Draft Community Rental Subsidy Guidelines to aid the implementation of the draft Policy. These draft Guidelines set out the detailed eligibility criteria and methodology used to assess community benefit and determine rental subsidy outcomes.
