AFZ re-established

Between 27 August and 27 September 2021 we engaged on a proposal to re-establish the Dee Why AFZ within existing boundaries for a period of up to four years.

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback.

At the meeting on Tuesday 26 October 2021, Council endorsed the re-establishment of the Alcohol Free Zone in Dee Why for a period of up to 4 years, from 1 December 2021 to 30 November 2025.

About the Dee Why AFZ

The Dee Why Alcohol Free Zone (AFZ) is bounded:

  • by Pittwater Road to the west, extending down Pacific Parade, Oaks Avenue and Howard Avenue to Avon Road
  • by Richmond Avenue to the north
  • by The Strand to the east, extending to the Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club
  • by Pacific Parade to the south.

The AFZ only covers roads, footpaths and public carparks contained within this area.

The existing Dee Why AFZ was set to expire on 9 December 2021.
