Our plan for a more inclusive Northern Beaches

Northern Beaches Council has developed our Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) 2022-2026.

The DIAP outlines what Council plans to do over the next four years to support people living with disability to feel included and be a part of community life.

Between 29 April 2022 and 29 May 2022 we consulted with you on our draft DIAP. We received a total of 37 submissions during the public exhibition.

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback. Overall there was a lot of support for the draft DIAP. Some amendments were made to the document based on feedback received, further strengthening our commitment to improving access and inclusion.

At the meeting on Tuesday 28 June 2022, Council adopted the Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) 2022-2026.

Consultation history

In October-November 2021, we consulted with you to understand what Council could do to make life easier on the Northern Beaches for people living with disability. You helped us by sharing your experiences and telling us what is important to you. Your input helped form actions in our draft DIAP.

During the public exhibition of the draft DIAP in April-May 2022, we asked you to read the draft and let us know if we got it right.

The documents below are the drafts we engaged on during the exhibition period and have since been revised based on community feedback.
