Adopted by Council

The Cultural Policy provides a framework of principles that articulate Council’s position on local arts, culture and creativity. It aligns with the adopted Arts and Creativity Strategy: Connected through Creativity 2029 and the Arts and Culture Action Plan.

Policy reviews occur at least every four years as part of our commitment under the Northern Beaches Council Operational Policy – Policy Framework. While our review is not proposing any changes to the draft Cultural Policy at this time, Council resolved at the August 2023 meeting to exhibit the policy as-is and invited community comments.

We have considered all submissions to determine whether any updates or changes will be made based on community feedback.

The draft policy and outcomes of community engagement were adopted at the 28 November 2023 Council Meeting.

The draft plan was on public exhibition between 25 August and 24 September 2023 and received 22 unique responses. We thank our community for your feedback. You can see what was said and how we responded in the Community Engagement Report.

Please note: all submissions in their entirety are made publicly available in the Community Engagement Report. Personal identifying information, and content which is discriminatory, hateful or which may defame, offend, insult, humiliate or intimidate have been redacted.
