Reviewing feedback

Towards a greener Northern Beaches

We are continuing to support the use of electric vehicles (EV) by providing more spaces across the Northern Beaches for EV charging stations.

Ausgrid and JOLT (a vehicle charging network company) propose to install free 15 minute public EV charging stations in selected locations across the Northern Beaches. The free charging will be funded by paid advertising on existing Ausgrid kiosk substations.

To support this initiative, we propose to allocate one parking space and accompanying line marking at each of the following locations:

  • 21 Oaks Avenue, Dee Why
  • Darley Street, Forestville (outside 55 The Centre)
  • Dowling Street, Freshwater (outside 28 Lawrence Street)

Signage will state ‘No Parking Electric Vehicles Excepted Only While Charging (Limit 1 Hour)'.

This proposal is in line with our Move - Northern Beaches Transport Strategy 2038.

Consultation on this proposal was carried out between Friday 22 October and Sunday 21 November 2021.

Feedback is now being reviewed. The results of this consultation and a recommendation will be referred to the Northern Beaches Local Traffic Committee for approval.
