Reviewing feedback
Project snapshot
We are committed to improving road safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists. The Collaroy Plateau Augusta Shopping Centre, located at the intersection of Veterans Parade and Grevillea Street, serves as a valuable hub for our community, fostering connection for residents of Collaroy Plateau and Wheeler Heights.
To promote safety and connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists, we propose the installation of a marked pedestrian crossing on Grevillea Street. This crossing will link the local retail precinct with the footpath that provides access to Wheeler Heights Public School.
List of proposed works
- Install 3.6m wide pedestrian crossing zebra pavement marking on Grevillea Street
- Install double-sided crossing signs on new poles, in the concrete barrier and grass on the northern and southern side respectively
An internal traffic modelling study has been conducted and supports the concept plan. This includes an analysis of traffic counts, pedestrian counts, road geometry, impact to speed and traffic delays.
