Lease granted

From 28 June to 26 July 2023, we provided public notification of our intention to grant a lease for the continued occupation of part of the land and building, located at East Esplanade Manly (Part Lot 7011 DP1074608).

We received a single submission in support of the lease renewal.

The lease has been granted for 10 years with an option term of 10 years.

What was proposed

Manly Yacht Club, established approximately 1922, has a long-standing history and strong connection to the local community. The club is family oriented; providing a vital service to the community, and its primary goal is to promote yachting and sailing activities and public recreation.

The club wished to continue leasing the Crown land and building for the purpose of sport, boat storage, clubhouse, associated indoor and outdoor recreation activities, and activities necessary to support its core use.

As the Crown Land Manager of East Esplanade Park Reserve (R83729), Council was required to give public notice of its intention to grant a lease for the continued occupation of part of the land and building, located at East Esplanade Manly (Part Lot 7011 DP1074608). Notice was provided in accordance with the Crown Land Management Act 2016 and Section 70 of the Crown Land Management Regulation 2018.

The proposed lease term was 10 years with an option term of 10 years.

The community were able to make submissions in relation to the proposal by completing the submission form, emailing or in writing to Council.

All submissions regarding this public notice are treated as public documents and made available on request.

The granting of the lease was subject to Council’s final approval.

Submissions closed Wednesday 26 July.
