Background

Safety concerns have been raised from road users regarding the intersection of Romford Road and Bimbadeen Crescent Frenchs Forest. In addition there is concern for vehicles travelling south on Nandi Avenue due to queuing at the median turning lane on Frenchs Forest Road East.

As an interim measure and to reduce accident risk we propose a restricted no right turn for southbound traffic on Romford Road into Bimbadeen Crescent (6-10am Monday to Friday).

The no right hand turn restrictions, if implemented, will be reviewed as part of the Frenchs Forest Traffic Management Plan in June 2020.

Community feedback will be reviewed, considered and reported to the Traffic Committee in February 2020 for consideration.

Alternative route

The suggested safer route for vehicles wanting to turn right is to use the intersection of Romford Road and Frenchs Forest East and the intersection of Frenchs Forest Road East and Nandi Avenue. Alternatively travel north on Romford Road towards Ilford Road.
