Draft Strategic Plan and Scoping Study open for comment

1 March 2019

One step closer to delivering major public art for the Northern Beaches Coast Walk.

At its meeting on 26 February 2019, Council resolved to place the draft Northern Beaches Coast Walk Public Art Strategic Plan and the draft Northern Beaches Coast Walk Public Art Scoping Study on public exhibition.

Both the Strategic Plan and Scoping Study are the culmination of extensive community engagement and collaboration by Council with our local arts, heritage and environmental community groups and organisations. They identify themes, concepts, opportunities and key locations for creative outcomes and provide a clear vision, principles and curatorial framework to guide the future planning and delivery of public artworks, integrated design projects, heritage interpretation and cultural programs at various sites along the Coast Walk.

Two million dollars over a four-year period has been allocated to the project from Council’s Merger Savings Fund.

The draft Strategic Plan and Scoping Study can be viewed at all Council’s libraries, main offices and arts venues such as the Glen Street theatre, The Curl Curl Creative Space, Manly Art Gallery & Museum and Avalon Recreation Centre.
