Reviewing feedback

What's happening now?

Submissions are now closed for the proposed lease renewals for 16 of our surf life saving clubs.

We would like to thank everyone who has made a submission on the proposal. We are reviewing and considering all submissions made and will report back to Council soon.

If you have chosen to be updated on this project, you will receive email notification confirming the report back to Council.

What was proposed?

There are 21 Surf Life Saving Clubs from Manly to North Palm Beach providing a valuable community service to the Sydney Northern Beaches.

We recognise the value that volunteer surf life saving clubs provide to our community and have been working with 16 of our clubs to provide surety of tenure over the coming 20 years. Our proposal is to offer the surf clubs new 20 year lease terms, backdated as commencing 1 July 2022.

In addition to the proposed 20-year leases above, Council intends to grant Queenscliff SLSC a five-year lease to continue their Surf Life Saving activities at Queenscliff SLSC IRB storage facility. The leased premises is located to the South of the Queenscliff SLSC Clubhouse on North Steyne, Manly.

The details of the land to be leased for each surf life saving club is identified in the lease notification plans. You will find these in the tiles below.

We wanted to know whether you supported the proposed leases for our surf clubs.

We invited the community to have their say by completing a submission form, emailing us or writing to us.
