We are proposing to replace the existing bridge at Morgan Road and Oxford Falls Road West due to its age and condition. The bridge was constructed in 1965 and has been identified in Council's most recent condition audit as requiring replacement due to its structural condition rating.

Council has developed a draft concept design for a new two-lane vehicle bridge with designated pedestrian access that will improve access and safety in the area.

The current 50km speed limit along Oxford Falls Road West and Morgan Road will be retained along with the existing three tonne load limit.

The bridge is a key evacuation route for people living and working within this bushfire zone area. Access to and passage over the existing road bridge will remain open to vehicles and the public throughout construction of the new bridge. Unrestricted access for emergency services will also be maintained during construction.

This project is listed in the current Capital Works Program under the Bridge Renewal Program with construction budgeted for the 2022/2023 financial year.
