Project update

We applied for funding through the State Government Get NSW Active Program 2022/23 for a shared path on Allambie Road, Allambie Heights.

Our application was unsuccessful, however we will continue to look for other funding opportunities.

Thank you for your feedback on the proposal.

Background

We identified an important transit connection that will increase the use of active travel to help break the reliance on cars as the main mode of travel for local trips.

We proposed to provide a 2.5m shared path on the northern side of Allambie Road between Flers Street and Allenby Park Parade. This project will also include intersection upgrades to include bike crossing facilities.

This will provide a valuable active travel connection between the local shopping, community and commercial facilities, Allambie Heights Oval including playground and sporting facilities and Allambie Heights Public School.

This project is aligned with our Move – Northern Beaches Transport Strategy and will provide users with a wider path, safer crossings and greater accessibility to walk and cycle.

We exhibited these proposals between Tuesday 25 January and Friday 18 February 2022 to seek thoughts on each proposal. Feedback was reviewed and included in our grant application to the state government.
