Project update

We applied for funding through the State Government Get NSW Active Program 2022/23 to upgrade a shared path on Blackbutts Road, Frenchs Forest.

Our application was unsuccessful, however we will continue to look for other funding opportunities.

Thank you for your feedback on the proposal. If funding is made available in future years, we will notify you of upcoming works.

Background

We proposed to upgrade the existing footpath to a 2.5m shared path on the northern side of Blackbutts Road between the existing raised pedestrian crossings near Pringle Avenue intersection and Glen Street.

This will provide an active travel connection for pedestrians and bicycle riders to travel between the local shopping, community and commercial facilities, sport grounds, nearby schools, showgrounds and dog park facilities as well as other recreational facilities including the playground and skate park.

This project is aligned with our Move – Northern Beaches Transport Strategy and will provide users with a wider path and greater accessibility for our community to walk and cycle. It would also result in both transport and recreational benefits for our community.

We exhibited these proposals between Tuesday 25 January and Friday 18 February 2022 to seek thoughts on each proposal. Feedback was reviewed and included in our grant application to the state government.
