Project update

We applied for funding through the State Government Get NSW Active Program 2022/23 for a footpath and improvements to public access in Highview Avenue, Manly Vale.

Our application was unsuccessful, however we will continue to look for other funding opportunities.

Thank you for your feedback on the proposal. If funding is made available in future years, we will notify you of upcoming works.

Background

We proposed a footpath in Highview Avenue and Sunshine Street as well as an upgrade of the public access way between Condamine Street and Highview Avenue, Manly Vale.

This project would provide greater accessibility for our community to travel to the local commercial area, Manly Vale B-Line and many other local facilities and destinations.

This proposal will see improved walking connections at:

1. Highview Avenue, between Sunshine Street and Kenneth Road - Provide a 1.5m footpath on the eastern side.

2. Sunshine Street, between Highview Avenue and the existing footpath at the commercial area - Provide a 1.5m footpath in on the southern side.

3. Between 289 – 291 Condamine Street and 15 - 17 Highview Avenue - Upgrade the existing pedestrian stairs and access way.

This project is aligned with our Move – Northern Beaches Transport Strategy and will provide users with a formalised path and greater accessibility for our community to walk and travel. It would also result in both transport and recreational benefits for our community.

We exhibited these proposals between Tuesday 25 January and Friday 18 February 2022 to seek thoughts on each proposal. Feedback was reviewed and formed part of our grant application to the State Government.
