Consultation Outcome - Hudson Parade, Clareville

2 April 2019

Following on from our consultation for the proposed new footpath along Hudson Parade, we've now reached the final design outcome.

Key changes to the proposal include:

  • Most of the road narrowing on Hudson Parade between Delecta Avenue and No. 152 has been removed from the proposal to maintain traffic flow along Hudson Parade.
  • Instead, a series of additional retaining walls will be constructed to support the footpath in front of No. 2 Delecta Avenue, 122 Hudson Parade as well as extending the existing retaining wall in front of No. 142 and 144 Hudson Parade
  • Additional signage to clarify the current and changed parking restrictions along Hudson Parade will be implemented
  • The replacement of removed street trees with Spotted Gums will instead be done with other smaller tree species such as Callistemon Captain Cooks at the conclusion of the works in appropriate locations
  • In some locations there will be localised reduction in the width of the footpath to minimise vegetation removal and maintain privacy

Additional ‘No Parking’ restrictions will be implemented in front of No. 128 Hudson Parade to remove congestion caused by buses.

Timing of works

The works are scheduled to commence in April 2019. You will be notified of the start date at least one week prior to them starting by letterbox notification. The notification will include the duration of the works and provide you with a site contact for the duration of the works.

How will the works impact me?

We are staging the works to reduce the impact to traffic, local businesses and residents. However, during the construction period, there will be traffic control, pedestrian diversions and noise at times.

Access to business and residences will be maintained at all times unless privately notified and suitable timing agreed upon.
