Hillcrest Avenue + Mona Vale Headland - Proposed New Walkway

15 February 2018

As part our ‘Connected Communities’ Program, we are connecting the Northern Beaches through the iconic Northern Beaches Coastal Walkway.

The proposed walkway along Hillcrest Avenue will provide a safe walking route between Mona Vale Headland Reserve to Barrenjoey Road.

View Design for Hillcrest Avenue

This new walkway along Hillcrest Avenue will generally be a 1.5 metre concrete footpath predominately along the northern side of the road and the southern side along the bend above Barrenjoey Road. There will be a need to construct sections of low retaining walls along some property boundaries.

We are also proposing upgrade works along the headland.

The proposed design includes;

  • 1.5 metre concrete path
  • Sandstone seating and paved viewing area
  • Repair existing sandstone wall and existing wharf timber viewing ledge
  • Replace timber fencing
