Walter Gors Park
Construction complete
The Dee Why Town Centre Masterplan identified Walter Gors Park as the key open space to service the Town Centre. The newly rejuvenated park was officially opened in April 2017.
Works included:
- a large grassed area
- children’s playground
- nature play area
- community herb garden and kitchen area
- outdoor fitness area
- improved seating
- accessible toilets
- water feature
- multiple plants and landscaping improvements
The park is named in honour of Walter Gors who was a World War I veteran who worked for Warringah Council for many years, starting as Deputy Shire Clerk in 1926 and retiring as Shire Clerk around 1958.
