We're building a new recreation space at Winnererremy Bay Park, Mona Vale for the community to enjoy. The project is part of Council's broader Let's Play! Open Space and Outdoor Recreation Strategy to invest in local infrastructure and promote active lifestyles. One of the actions from the strategy was to look at improvements for Mona Vale, including the potential for a new basketball hard court facility.

We asked for your feedback on the concept design between 2 February and 1 March 2024 and heard from 237 people. Since then, we've used your feedback to help refine the design. In response to concerns about pedestrian and cyclist safety we’ve removed the additional perimeter bike track from the final plan. We've also included pickleball line marking to provide a more flexible space.

The new hard courts will be suitable for a range of sports, including basketball, netball, handball and pickleball.

Works will start in March and should be completed by end of June 2025, weather permitting.

Between 2 February and 1 March 2024, we sought your feedback on the proposed recreation space and heard from 237 community members.

The proposed hardcourt design included regulation-size key and three-point lines, new seating overlooking the courts and park, preserved open grassed areas with new shade trees for passive recreation, and an additional bike path around the perimeter.

Based on your feedback, we’ve refined the design. In response to concerns about pedestrian and cyclist safety we’ve removed the additional perimeter bike track from the final plan.
