Freshwater Beach Amenities Building

As part of the Freshwater Beach Masterplan, we are proposing to construct a new public amenities building that will meet the needs of the community and visitors to the reserve and the beach.

Accessible amenities, a family change room and unisex handwashing facilities will be included in the design.

We have developed an initial concept design and asked for your feedback between Monday 23 September and Sunday 27 October 2024. We heard from over 150 members of the community, thank you to everyone that contributed feedback on this proposal. We have reviewed the feedback we received which can be viewed in our Community Engagement Report.

Why are we building a new public amenities block at Freshwater Beach?

Freshwater Beach is one of the most popular destinations in our local government area, attracting a large number of visitors who rely on convenient public amenities. To better accommodate the growing needs of the community, Council has proposed relocating the public amenities from the Freshwater Surf Life Saving Club to a new, dedicated facility. This standalone amenities building will be located at the northern end of the reserve, near the new playground, ensuring accessibility and convenience for all beachgoers.
