Construction complete

Pedestrian safety near Manly Village Public School has been improved by upgrading the existing crossings on Darley Road and Victoria Parade.

On Darley Road we raised the crossing and extended the kerbs north of the intersection.

On Victoria Parade we shifted the pedestrian crossing slightly east and raised the crossing, included a cycleway crossing and extended the kerbs of the intersection. Stormwater pits were relocated to allow for the improvements.

To allow greater visibility for pedestrians and vehicles exiting the driveway at 14-16 Victoria Parade, we removed two car parking spaces on the southern side of Victoria Parade. On the northern side of Victoria Parade, two motorcycle parking spaces and one car parking space were removed.

This project was delivered as part of the Federal Stimulus - School Infrastructure Program, with funding secured to support pedestrian improvements in local schools.
