What's happening?
We're proposing to install permanent bollards to provide additional protection for pedestrians, creating a physical barrier against potential vehicles coming on to the footpath. Several locations have been identified where there is high pedestrian activity along Manly Beachfront:
- on the corner of Victoria Parade
- on the corner of Wentworth Street
- on the corner of Raglan Street.
With the permanent bollards in place, we will be able to efficiently barricade off areas during community events run by Council and other event organisers, without the difficulty or expense of installing and removing as many temporary barriers each time.
The installation of the permanent bollards will be funded as part of the NSW Government’s Vibrant Street Package.
