We exhibited a proposal to grant a five-year licence to Long Reef Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC), with three 5-year options. The proposed licence applies to Saturdays between 1 September to 1 May each year between 12 noon and 8pm.
The proposal was exhibited between Friday 21 July and Sunday 20 August 2023. We received 322 submissions - thank you to all who provided feedback. Feedback indicated overall support for the proposal, however some concerns were raised. You can read further detail, including all verbatim submissions in the Summary Report of Public Notification.
After reviewing all of the feedback the proposed operating hours have been reduced to 2pm - 8pm on days that the Nippers program is running each year.
A report was presented to Council at its meeting on Tuesday 28 November 2023. Following the Council meeting, we applied to the Minister for Local Government in accordance with section 47 of the Local Government Act 1993 for consent to grant the amended licence proposal. Consent has been granted and we have entered into the licence agreement.
