  • SHAPE 2028 - Discussion Paper

More than one thousand community members have contributed to the development of a draft CSP Framework: setting a guiding vision for the Northern Beaches into the future and defining goals and strategies to address priority issues over the next ten years.

The Discussion Paper outlines the draft CSP Framework within the broader planning context of the Sydney metropolitan region. The purpose is to start conversations with the community about how we best can make their vision a reality:

Northern Beaches – a safe, inclusive and connected community that values its natural and built environment

Please have a read of the Discussion Paper tell us what you think by registering for one of our workshops (see below) or filling in our online survey.

  • Background

Northern Beaches Council came into existence in May 2016 by merging Manly, Warringah and Pittwater local government areas.

We now have an exciting opportunity to create a new roadmap for the whole region that will guide local
decision-making and community participation over the next decade. The Community Strategic Plan will define the community’s vision for the northern beaches and identify priorities and long term strategies for the region. The NSW Government requires Council to adopt the Community Strategic Plan by June 2018.
