Community Strategic Plan SHAPE 2028

This consultation has concluded.

We are seeking your help in developing a new Community Strategic Plan that reflects a shared vision for the future of the Northern Beaches.

The vision will be developed with the community and key stakeholders during 2016 and 2017, and will guide the priorities and direction for the area over the next ten years.

The new Council to be elected in September 2017 will build on this engagement with a plan to resource the delivery and operational aspects by 1 July 2018.

  • Stage 3 - Community Workshops

    Join us for a light meal to help us set priorities for the next three years.

    The Community Strategic Plan (CSP) is open for public exhibition before it is adopted by the new Council. A series of workshops are planned to help validate the CSP and start thinking about priorities for what Council can focus on over the next three years in the Delivery Program 2018-2021.

    There will also be an opportunity to meet some of the newly elected Councillors who will be listening carefully to what is important to you.

    Youth Workshop
    Workshop for 14-24 year olds with the chance to win one of 5 $50 Westfield vouchers and free pizza for all who attend!
    • Thursday 12 October, 5 – 6:30pm, Westfield Community Rooms (above Warringah Mall Library)
    If you need help getting to/from the venue let us know on the registration form and we will contact you to discuss options.

    Business Event
    This informal business networking event will have booths set up to discuss priorities across a selection of Council services relevant for businesses. The Delivery Program is your contract with Council – its what Council will deliver over the next three years to support your business so be sure to tell us your priorities.

    Thank you to over 1,000 members of the community who provided input during phase two engagement in March and April to SHAPE 2028.

    Feedback on discussion paper, including the draft vision, goals and strategies has helped to prepare the draft Community Strategic Plan (CSP) which went to Council on Tuesday 27 June 2017 and was endorsed for exhibition.

    The level of engagement for our Youth Workshop has been strong, with a significant number of youth signing up over the Easter long weekend. In response to the demand, we have doubled the number of spaces available in the session, however we have had to close registrations as we are unable to accommodate any further participants.

    Registrations are now open for our Youth Workshop!

    More than one thousand community members have contributed to the development of a draft CSP Framework: setting a guiding vision for the Northern Beaches into the future and defining goals and strategies to address priority issues over the next ten years.

    The Discussion Paper outlines the draft CSP Framework within the broader planning context of the Sydney metropolitan region. The purpose is to start conversations with the community about how we best can make their vision a reality:

    Northern Beaches – a safe, inclusive and connected community that values its natural and built environment

    Please have a read of the Discussion Paper tell us what you think by registering for one of our workshops (see below) or filling in our online survey.
