New shared path coming soon

Shared path route slightly modified

Thank you to the 158 people who made a submission on the Queenscliff Shared Path project between 21 August and 25 September 2020.

Community response was generally supportive of the concept for a shared path connecting Manly and Queenscliff to Freshwater Village.

As a result of the feedback, we have decided it would be safer to have the shared path run alongside the community garden in the Crown Road Reserve rather than via Cavill Street. We consulted with representatives from Freshwater Community Gardens to ensure we minimise impacts to the established garden beds.

The amended route and detailed design have now been approved by the Northern Beaches Traffic Committee and we have received Transport for NSW grant funding, allowing us to proceed with the construction of the shared path in March 2021.

The proposal

We are extending the shared path network connecting Manly and Queenscliff to Freshwater Village.

The upgraded path will be approximately 750m in length and have a typical width of 2.5m.

Shared paths provide wider and safer walking and cycling routes for our community including greater accessibility for prams, wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
