Reviewing feedback

To accelerate and support the uptake of electric vehicles (EVs), we’re proposing to install an additional 13 public DC EV charging stations across the Northern Beaches in partnership with JOLT Australia.

These fast-charging stations will be in existing public parking spaces, converting one adjacent parking space to EV charging only.

We have shortlisted 13 sites, and asked which sites you would like prioritised - there is funding to install 11 under the current NSW Government Kerbside EV Charging grant, plus an additional two in lieu of previously approved sites that are no longer feasible.

Funding

Funding

The JOLT fast DC charging stations will be installed at no cost to Council - JOLT will provide 7kWh of free charging to each customer every 24 hours (equal to approximately 45-50 km of driving range). Additional charging paid by the customer will also be available.

11 of the 13 charging stations will be co-funded by the NSW Government as part of the first round of kerbside charging grants. Outside of the NSW Government funding, JOLT will cover all costs associated with the installation, operation, maintenance and decommissioning of the chargers.

No additional funding is required for the two replacement sites, as they have already been approved under a previous funding stream.
