Environmental Zones Review
We are committed to demonstrating a clear process for establishing the principles and criteria for identifying land suitability and recommending future zoning.
As part of Planning our Sustainable Future, we are undertaking a review of existing land use zones used in the four current Local Environment Plans (LEPs).
We know our community is passionate about protecting the environment, so we would like your involvement in the review of Environmental Zones (also known as E Zones).
The Environmental Zones Review will help us establish which land areas are included in, or excluded from, Environmental Zones. It will also identify a criteria, proposed land uses and include mapping of proposed zones.
We’ll be providing a range of opportunities for you to get involved and provide feedback during the review.
One of the first opportunities was a series of focus groups, where those that registered an interest were provided with the opportunity to participate reviewing workshop material and and respond to a survey.
In mid-2021, we exhibited the LEP/DCP Discussion Paper.
The Environmental Zones Review and a range of technical studies are scheduled to be released early-2022.
In September 2021 we revised the Environmental Zones Review Process to reflect changes to the program.
